Events Around Town

Orlando, is of course known as a major Themepark Destination. That is not the whole story, of course. Nightlife away from the theme parks is centered mostly around Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando.

Here you can walk to many bars and several dance clubs from the chic urban Rhythm and Flow to the Mulvaney's Irish Pub and Bob Snow's recently re-opened Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House (part of 1980's popular Church Street Station) Additionally there is Wall Street Plaza, with eight colorful bars and restaurants lining a brick-paved street.

The International Drive area features nightclubs like Backstage at the Rosen Plaza, Glo Lounge Orlando , POSH Ultra Nightclub and Howl at The Moon.

Pointe Orlando offers a mix of restaurants, clubs, shops and movie theatres.

At Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort, dining, shopping, movie theatres and five hot nightclubs with a single admission charge.

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island offers seven clubs for the price of one. Movies, dining and shopping abound at the adjacent Downtown Disney West Side.

Sports teams in town include the Orlando Magic (NBA), Orlando Predators (AFL) and the Orlando Sharks (MISL).
